Renewable Energy Conference 2022 (REC22) & EXPO
Uganda and the rest of Africa share great challenges concerning reliable and affordable supply of sustainable (green) energy. Addressing such challenges could be most effectively done if the academia, industry, government, and non-governmental organization joined forces.
This background motivated the establishment of the National Renewable Energy Platform (NREP) under the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD) to spearhead the establishment of the interlink amongst the stakeholders.
Through the NREP, the MEMD is organising the Renewable Energy Conference 2022 (REC22) & EXPO to bring together the forementioned stakeholders to share the diverse approaches of curbing the energy sector challenges and fostering renewable energy adoption in Uganda. The REC22 & EXPO will mainly focus on scientific, technical, and organizational innovations as well as policy recommendations on sustainable energy generation, transmission, and distribution.
Conference Topics
Oral and poster presentations on technological, economic, and social aspects of innovative solutions for African communities, particularly Uganda in the field of Renewable Energy. Papers discussing results or strategies for local and international cooperation in the field of Renewable Energy are highly welcome.

Criteria For Applying
- Applications are open to everyone regardless of their age, gender, disability, and race.
- Applications will be evaluated based on the soundness and uniqueness of the research or business project. Bare concept ideas will not be considered.
- Research and business presentations that demonstrate a sustainable environmental and socio-economic dimension will be favoured.
How To Apply
- Researchers should strictly follow the REC22 abstract template-research on the conference website.
- Entrepreneurs should write a short summary of their business following the REC22 abstract template-entrepreneur on the conference website. If available, include a link to the project as well as resume (CV) in English with references.
